I teach modern literature, film, and critical theory at the University of Cambridge, and

work in the areas of literary analysis, cultural theory, intellectual history, and digital media.

My first monograph, War/Sport: A Modern History, traces the remarkable ways war and sport have intersected in American and European culture since the late nineteenth century (more details are available here). My writing, on topics including cybernetics’ cultural influence, the graphic narrative Building Stories, and military drone aesthetics in video games, has appeared in Textual Practice, Humanities, and Critical Quarterly—among other journals and books. A full list of my publications is available here.

I completed my Ph.D. in English in 2019 at the University of Cambridge, where I am now a Teaching and Research Associate in English Literature at Pembroke. More details about my teaching are available here.
